Smart Aquaculture Investment and Innovation Forum (SAIIF)

Smart Aquaculture Investment and Innovation Forum (SAIIF)

PanLogica was recently invited to present at the Smart Aquaculture Investment and Innovation Forum (SAIIF) 2017 in Seoul, Korea.

What is SAIIF?

To secure a sustainable supply of seafood, the Korean Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries has set the Aquaculture sector as a priority area for the use of smart technology. To that end, SAIIF was formed in November 2016 with the intention of nurturing a convergence of fishery, IT/telecommunications, and banking sectors.

Held annually SAIIF is a showcase of new equipment and technology for the Korean Aquaculture industry and a guest country, in this case, Australia.

SAIIF 2017

SAIIF was formally opened by The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, Mr. Kim Young Choon, on December 8, 2017.

With attendees from various Korean sectors including government, fishery industry, R&D, academic, software & technologies, and investors it was exciting to see the commitment to aquaculture at a country-wide level, with strong government leadership and real engagement by large-scale investor groups.

Advanced Technology in Aquaculture

Forum themes included the scaling up and industrialization of Korean aquaculture and most notably the application of advanced technology in coming years across the industry.

The benefits of optimization were well understood and it was a pleasure to present aspects of our world-leading optimization technology to such an informed audience.

Take home thoughts

There is a real sense of commitment and energy to grow the Korean aquaculture industry which will benefit not only the people of Korea but the global aquaculture industry.

Thank you

On behalf of PanLogica, I would like to extend my thanks to the gracious hosts of the event SAIIF Secretariat as well as the Austrade officials for their advice and assistance.
