Why PanLogica is exhibiting at Aqua Nor this year

What is Aqua Nor?

Aqua Nor is the largest global conference focused on aquaculture technology. Based on past events, it's probable that more than 20,000 people will attend the four-day event during August 15-18, 2017!

Companies and research organizations from around the world travel to the biennial event in Trondheim Norway to present their latest innovations for the aquaculture industry.

Why the focus on aquaculture technology?

Advancements in aquaculture technology come in many forms, from biomass control to safety equipment to veterinary medicine to software. The companies and individuals presenting at Aqua Nor are unified by a focus on technology that will solve the industry’s challenges today and in the future.

This year's Aqua Nor Innovation Award recorded a 64% increase in applications (compared to Aqua Nor 2015) submitted from 14 countries. The increase in applications is confirmation of the aquaculture industry's drive for innovative technology.

Who attends Aqua Nor?

Aqua Nor attracts over 20,000 visitors from more than 70 countries. All the major aquaculture nations are present as exhibitors, as visitors, or in official delegations. The program includes numerous seminars, mini-conferences, presentations, lectures, and debates designed to update Aqua Nor attendees with the latest information.

Furthermore, aquaculture producers from around the world, working with a variety of fish species in differing environments, have the opportunity to discuss their challenges directly with exhibitors. In turn, exhibitors can explain how their technology may be able to help the producers tackle business hurdles. It is a fantastic opportunity for exhibitors such as ourselves to demonstrate our technologies to the global aquaculture community and for Aqua Nor attendees to engage with over 500 exhibitors from a diverse range of companies.

Why is PanLogica exhibiting at Aqua Nor?

PanLogica is the only Australian company presenting at this year’s event.

Australia has a long history and wide-ranging list of innovations including:

  • WiFi, a spin-off from CSIRO's radio-astronomy research innovation
  • Black box flight recorder
  • Peptic ulcer treatment with antibiotics
  • Spray-on skin for burn victims
  • Speedo swimwear
  • and Neptune, the first optimisation software for aquaculture

We are proud to be the provider of Neptune software, a new application for aquaculture of a proven technology. Neptune incorporates the results of 75 years of research by mathematicians into business processes, and 15 years of innovation by PanLogica, providing an easy-to-use package that is built specifically for the aquaculture industry.

Our world-leading, aquaculture planning software Neptune helps aquaculture companies around the world to be more profitable, efficient, and sustainable!

Neptune interactively and graphically enables aquaculture management to find the best investment plan for their operation, as well as the routine planning of stocking, harvesting, processing, and selling their high-quality products. It replaces slow and complicated manual planning, which relies on historical performance, with the rapid automatic exploration of the best plans for multiple scenarios.

We are passionate about this technology and want to help the aquaculture industry to become even more efficient and profitable!

We are travelling from Hobart to Trondheim (approximately 17000 kms) to be part of #AquaNor2017 because we passionate about the power of optimisation and want to help the aquaculture industry to become even more efficient!

PanLogica was founded in 2001 when Dr. David Wright identified the decision making complexities associated with the lengthy process of fish farming and created a software program, Neptune, that would make aquaculture business decision making more systematic, robust and time efficient.

We invite you to contact us for a more detailed explanation of Neptune and PanLogica.
